listen to - Sergio Mendes' "Mas Que Nada" ft Black Eyed Peas
i like bossa nova. for the moment. because i like the groove. escpecially the abovementioned song. the piano part is simplistic, yet heavenly. ouh it sends shivers up and down my spine.
went for SHINE briefing at national library just now. haha. i found the place in like, 2 minutes. and it was like a 5 minute walk from bugis mrt station. and my sister was telling me to take 66 then change. it'll take like forever like that. haha. since i had time to kill. i sauntered into bugis street to check out the merch they have. nice tees. i like. then crossed to bugis junction to get my long-awaited frappucino. instead of rhumba they now have java chip, which is stronger, i heard. sad. no more rhumba. which sounds nicer, rhumba or java chip? so changed to mocha frappucino and strolled, or attempted to with my long legs, around bugis junction. bought 2 bangles for $5 at one of the stalls and walked very slowly to the library, which was just beside the shopping centre.
reached the central lending area, realised that the room wasn't open. so walked about the floor at the creative arts section, attempting to find books on dada, post-modernist and constructivism art. of course there were the usual minahs who were giggling, no sniggering, super loudly. (my mp3 player was at volume 30 i could still hear them) and they were acting like they were pretty smart taking random books and laughing at the paintings inside. oh please grow up, will you? don't dress like some kakak2 and laugh childishly when you look at nude impressionist works. oh god. what a disgrace. but of course i was outnumbered and all i could do was give them that condescending look and sideways glare which sent them far far away from me. ecuador just won 3-0 against costa rica. costa rica is definitely out since they lost the opening match against germany 4-2. yay germany!
digressions aside. the brefing was okay. it was quite cold. they attempted to entertain us while we waited by playing some songs. but they aren't tech-savvy. i was disappointed. they had ff's the fallen and hard-fi's hard to beat lined up. boo-hoo. signed up for 3 of the events, including a camp. whee.. after that walked around the library and borrowed 2 bulgakov books. yay bulgakov! shockingly, no bukowski was in sight and i only met with one brookmyre book, the first one that got me hooked. hehe. saw someone who looked like a guy i once knew. felt tears stinging.
boo you.
